About the Award

Honouring Innovative and Impactful People Practices

First-of-its-kind in Asia, the Asian Human Capital Award honours innovative and impactful people practices adopted by Asia-based organisations. Jointly sponsored by the Singapore Ministry of Manpower and the Human Capital Leadership Institute, the Award showcases useful case studies and generates practical insights to address human capital challenges in Asia.

The winners are recognised at the Singapore Human Capital Summit, a premier people and leadership conference that brings together top global and regional CEOs and HR directors to discuss leading ideas, practices and opportunities in human capital management in Asia.

Apply for the Asian Human Capital Award 2017

We welcome entries from all organisations with operations in Asia. Entries can be on a self-nomination or peer-nomination basis. The form must be completed online, in English, by 17 April 2017.

To nominate an organisation, email the award secretariat stating reasons for the nomination. The secretariat will follow up with the nominated organisation to put up the application. Anonymous nominations will not be accepted.

Successful entries should demonstrate the following qualities in their people practice:

  • Addresses the business and HR context faced by the company;
  • Demonstrates innovation/uniqueness;
  • People practice addresses local context; and
  • Impacts business outcomes.

Here is what you will need to have prepared to complete the application:

  1. The address of your organisation
  2. An organisational profile
  3. The legal entity name of your organisation
  4. The number of employees in FY 2016
  5. The revenue of your legal entity in USD in FY 2015
  6. An applicant name and job title.

Questions asked in the form include:

  • What was the business and HR context your organisation faced which led to the development of the practice?
  • What are two to three key elements of the practice that highlight its uniqueness, innovation and gave your organisation a competitive advantage?
  • What were the challenges faced in developing, implementing and sustaining the practice?
  • Was this practice developed locally or was it an adaptation of a global practice?
  • In what way did this practice align with the local context?
  • How did this practice lead to positive business outcomes for your organisation, in particular addressing the context or challenge on hand?

Award Categories:

  • Large Enterprises (>200 employees in the country/region the application is for)
  • Small & Medium Enterprises (Annual sales turnover of under S$100 million, or employs less than 200 employees)
  • Government organisations
  • Non-government organisations
